Over 35,000 tractors are currently being used in Bangladesh's agricultural sector and the demand is increasing. Indian tractors are very popular and cost around Taka 10 lakh (from $10,000 to $15,000) in Bangladesh.
14 percent interest for farmers is too high. There should be drive or incentives five years payment plan without interest by the manufacturers to support the farmers,farming and increasing their business. Win win for everyone and it will boost employment, agriculture output and more profit for every one.
The writer fails to explain how the increase is related to CPEC, those manufacturers already existed and the reasons listed have nothing to do with CPEC. CPEC is a Chinese plan for their trade through Pakistan, Pakistan has little, if any benefit because we gave away tax holidays for Chinese business. The roads and bridges will be used by Chinese but Pakistan will be paying the loan installments. Pakistanis will starve because all the crops are for chinese market.

Good to know the progress made by MTL in capturing a high market share in the Tractor industries of Pakistan. The Federal Govt should also support local Automobiles manufacturer most likely of 3 Wheeler Auto Rickshaw Industries that have the potential to match with the world top most selling international brand "Bajaj Auto". If the govt support these industries to export their products internationally, Pakistan will lead exports of Auto Rickshaws in the entire world. Departments like PSQC, PPTA, Excise and Taxation and EDBA should promote their local industries by authorizing and giving approval on all models of Auto Rickshaws in 3 Wheeler instead of holding or delaying their manufacturing approval. It will not just gonna destroy local industries but many people will get jobless. I would like to request the Govt of Pakistan to show some concern on it. Rickshaw Auto customers are poor people. They make money from it by giving services to People in moving from some place to another.
How come CPEC increased the tractor production ?

Cost of tractor in India is 2 lakh INR that is 1200 dollar onwards, why pakistan is producing them at7000$.
@Fatima ...... The tractors have many uses besides farming. They have many auxiliary implements. The PTO (Power Take Off) option, can be used to drive many other mechanical implements or used for water extraction thru tube wells. The Tractors are also used for land levelling and preparation, which is needed for road construction. Plus tractors can be used for load pulling and cargo load delivery. A simple farm tractor has many uses outside of a farm.
