Butler aim to provide their customers with a 24/7 delivery service so that they can order “anything anytime”.

A new online delivery service called Butler was launched in Karachi by entrepreneur Taha Kirmani on July 24th. The service is part of the Kirmani Enterprise and has been in the making for over a year.

Butler aim to provide their customers with a 24/7 delivery service so that they can order “anything anytime”, which is also the company’s slogan. Their logo is a black hat which symbolises a butler’s classic attire, indicating that the service offers convenience.

Butler is essentially a platform for the citizens of Karachi to order a wide range of items including, but not limited to, grocery items, baby care products, fresh poultry, pharmaceuticals and food from any restaurant. So if you need a pizza at midnight, medicine for your headache, an urgent mobile credit top up, a birthday cake to surprise a special person, a smoke for the rainy weather, or have an early morning diaper emergency, Butler has it all covered.

Currently all operations are carried out at the website Butler.com.pk, where a chat pops up as soon as someone goes to the website. Twenty four hours a day, a butler is available to chat and take the order. The website has a menu of items, including pharmaceutical products that a purchaser may need. Certain items which require legal affirmation, such as Valium and Xanax are only provided after a prescription is shown to the ‘butler’ either via chat, or after the ‘butler’ arrives with the delivery. The pharmaceutical provider is a licensed pharmacy and follows strict legal rules. The product list is updated weekly and more products are added to the list by popular demand. The Butler app is under construction and will soon be launched to assist a larger number of people.

Team Butler comprises of 15 people. The delivery boys are called the ‘Butlers’. They have been strategically positioned at various spots in Khadda Market, Zamzama, and outside the company’s official partners and suppliers: PharmacyPlus (medicinal products) and Ajwa Super Store (groceries, household items etc.). This strategic placement helps the customer receive their items within 25 minutes and there is no minimum order. The butler will charge Rs 100 for every delivery irrespective of the order size. Currently, cigarettes seem to be the most popular item on Butler’s menu.

For quality assurance, the butlers have to sign an agreement whereby they agree to provide the purest and most reasonable products, in the shortest possible time.

For quality assurance, the butlers have to sign an agreement whereby they agree to provide the purest and most reasonable products, in the shortest possible time. If they fail to do so, the customers’ complaint is taken seriously and action against the butler may be taken as well.

In terms of promotion, Kirmani believes that Facebook sponsored posts are enough, although he plans to add Google ads to the list soon.

Although delivery services are only provided to Clifton and DHA, Butler plan on extending their services throughout Karachi. They also aim to expand to other major cities including Lahore and Islamabad.

Are you a Butler user? If not, it’s never too late to sit back and let a butler be at your service.
